An evaporite deposit located in the SW¼ sec. 2, T18N, R24E, G&SRM, 5.1 km (3.2 miles) ENE of Adamana (village), on National Park Service land (Petrified Forest National Park). Discovered in 1964. Operator/owner was the Kern County Land Company. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 250 meters (within 1/8 mile).
Mineralization is a potash & halite evaporite deposit hosted in Late Permian clastic sedimentary rock of the Supai Formation (Coconino sandstone). The ore body has a depth-to-top of 294.13 meters. Local rocks include Holocene surficial deposits.
Local geologic features include the Holbrook Basin.
