Kharlovskoye Fe-Ti deposit
Gabbro olivine/titanomagnetite intrusion with contact aureole (hornfels) in psammites (greenschist facies).
The aureole structure is complex :
- Outer biotite zone (LT) : Biotite, muscovite, chlorite, plagioclase, quartz, magnetite, epidote.
- Spotted hornfels zone : Cordierite, biotite, muscovite, quartz, plagioclase, magnetite.
- Middle zone : Cordierite, biotite, plagioclase, quartz, andalusite, magnetite.
- Inner zone (HT) : Cordierite, biotite, plagioclase, K-feldspar, quartz, andalusite, magnetite.
Quartz-free segregations : Cordierite, biotite, spinel, sillimanite, plagioclase, K-feldspar, magnetite.
Occurrence of metabasites in the middle part of the aureole (amygdaloidal diabases with a muscovite-amphibole hornfel facies) : Arfvedsonite, magnesiohastingsite, Fe-rich clinochlore, biotite, titanite, etc.
Located near Kharlovo village, on the bank of the Charysh river, NW foot of Altaï Mts.
