Roßrugg-Kamm (Roßrugg), Zemmgrund, Zillertal, Nordtirol, Tirol, Österreich
Outcrops of garnet-bearing slate gneisses, intercalating tonalitic gneisses. This deposit was mined for almandine from 1770 until the late 19th century. The rocks were transported to a mill near the Waxegg Alp, and subsequently shipped to Prague, were the garnet was cut and sold as 'bohemian garnet'. The true bohemian garnet, however, is a pyrope. Almandines from this locality have a typical reddish brown colour.
