The geological environment is represented by a stock of monzodiorite intruding the Tarahumara Formation (Ks(?)Tpae A-TA), which generates zones of contact metasomatism (hornfels), discordantly covered by a Quaternary unit.
The evidence of mineralization is associated with the intrusion of monzodiorite, which generates metasomatic contact replacement in the Ks(?)TpaeA-TA unit in the form of silicification (SK) with pyrite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, magnetite, and specularite.
Within the MzD intrusive, an endoskarn is recognized containing veinlets, miarolitic cavities, dissemination with mineralization of andradite, grossularite, melanite, epidote, chlorite, quartz, prehnite, and magnetite with apatite inclusions.
A second mineralization event is recognized within the exoskarn in the form of fractures filled with epidote, chlorite, calcite, diopside, and quartz.
Furthermore, the endoskarn develops veinlets with potassic and calco-sodic alteration halos containing feldspar, albite, microcline, magnesium hornblende, clinochlore, muscovite, orthoclase, calcic montmorillonite, and stilbite (SGM, 2019).
