Affioramento di metagranodiorite di Albarea, Pinasca, Città metropolitana di Torino (Provincia di Torino), Piemonte, Italia
Small outcrop of the so-called "Malanaggio diorite" (a series of dioritic to granodioritic gneissic bodies which intrude the Pinerolo Graphitic Complex in the lower Chisone Valley).
This granodioritic to tonalitic gneiss, a more acidic variety of the "Malanaggio diorite", displays rather well preserved magmatic textures and mineral assemblages. The magmatic hornblende is totally replaced by aggregates of fine-grained biotite. The concordant U-Pb zircon age of 288 ± 2 Ma has been
proposed for the crystallisation of this granodioritic facies of the "Malanaggio diorite" (Bussy & Cadoppi, 1996).
