Gold-palladium mine that existed already in the 19th century.
Gold and palladium-bearing gold are found in a contact-metamorphic calcsilicate rock consisting of an intergrowth of pyroxene, actinolite, chondrodite, calcite, magnetite and ilmenite. The calcsilicate rock was derived from a limestone lens in itabirite affected by the intrusion of granitic and pegmatitic masses.
