Old graphite mine.
Located around 850 m SE of the church of Elsenreith (Weiß, 1995); an open pit mine existed. Between 1963 and 1966 around 8000 tons of raw graphite ore (mainly a graphite breccia) was mined. Subsequently, the small deposit was exhausted.
Besides graphite-rich layers, also calcsilicate rocks and calcite marbles occurred.
Some more or less overgrown dumps remain (situation 2021). These dumps are well visible using the basemapAT map viewing option of Mindat.

The deposit is very similar to that of nearby Amstall (Weinberg quarry).
