K2 Granite
Occurrence of granite with blue spots due to azurite staining; commercially called K2 Granite.
Spherical concentrations of azurite in granitoid. Matrix is granodiorite (quartz and albite with minor black mica). Determined by X-ray diffraction by John Attard. The black specks of mica were assumed to be "biotite" by microscopic observation.
QUEMSCAN® analysis done by Dr G. Rollinson (CIMF, CSM, University of Exeter, UK. May 2017) also confirms azurite in granodiorite:
