A former Ag-Au-Mo-Cu occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NE¼SW¼ sec. 13, T23N, R18W, G&SRM, ¾ mile N of Mineral Park and 3½ miles SE of Chloride, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Discovered and owned by T.J. Christie. Owned by Henry Lovin. Owned by Florence Brown, Executrix (1977). Operated 1880 to 1907. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 500 meters.

METALLIC-ACCIDENT MINE.

The Metallic-Accident mine is in the northern part of the district three-fourths of a mile north of Mineral Park. It was discovered by T. J. Christy, under whose ownership it produced handsomely. It is now owned by Henry Lovin, of Kingman. It is an old mine on which relatively only a small amount of work has been done, the developments not extending below a depth of 60 feet, where the vein is reported to become broken and to contain some copper.

The production is said to be about $54,000, all in ore containing chiefly chloride of silver with some gold; much of this ore was very rich.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. The ore body is comprised of 8 to 14 inch wide 'feeder' veins. The mineralization is associated with a Late Cretaceous porphyry intrusion. Associated and host rock unit is the Ithaca Peak granite. Local rocks include Early Tertiary to Late Cretaceous granitic rocks.

Regional geologic features include Precambrian schistosity that strikes N30ºE. Veins, fissures and dikes strike NW to NNW regionally.

Workings include unspecified underground openings with an overall depth of 18.29 meters (60 feet).
