Afffioramento di serpentinite del Lago Fiorenza, Pian del Re, Crissolo, Provincia di Cuneo, Piemonte, Italia
Serpentinite oucrop along the path from Pian del Re to Lago Fiorenza.
The serpentinite, deriving from primary spinel lherzolite, is either massive or sheared. It mainly consists of antigorite, with variable amounts of clinopyroxene, brucite, clinochlore, titanclinohumite, metamorphic olivine and chrysotile; the ore minerals are magnetite, Fe–Ni alloys and sulphides. Different generations of metamorphic veins crosscut the serpentinite (Rolfo et al., 2015).
