The ruby deposit is located south of Namanhumbire village about 30 km east of Montepuez town on the way to Pemba. The deposit is localized in a eponymous tectonic unit mainly composed of strongly deformed gneiss and quartzite, with a few marble lenses.

The project covers an area of approximately 33,600 hectares.
