Köppen climate type:
Scattered lenses of nickeliferous sulphides up to 1 metre in length, in highly metamorphosed dolerite. Mainly pyrrhotite, with 10% pentlandite, and 1% chalcopyrite. Nickel can range up to 3%, which is a good grade, but the sporadic and small extent of the deposits discourages mining.
Accessible locations mentioned include the walking track into the asbestos mine. Nickeliferous pearly green talc, and 'glistening' white magnesite with blue-green specks of garnierite, associated with small sulphide grains in talc carbonate on the road near the Cobb Dam.
