Named after the crystallisation plant which is about 200 metres west of the former Jervois mining camp site. Minor relics of the plant remain. It is assumed the prospects are near the plant, however Ransom's map places the prospect about one kilometre to the north-east. Described as adjacent to a secondary copper outcrop, with fair scheelite grades in skarn. A Crystallisation Mag Prospect is also mentioned 100 feet further north-east in hard rock, the deposit 100 feet long, at least 6 feet wide, with some ellivial scheelite.

In a separate section Ransom states there are two to three mineralised layers, 50 metres long, by 10 metres wide in calc-silicate rock, 400 metres north of the Jervois Sulphates (N.T.) Ltd copper leaching plant (crystallisation plant). Scheelite is found as coarse grains and aggregates, within an epidote-quartz-tremolite (actinolite) layer. Also present is marble, garnet-epidote rocks, tremolite-quartz-calcite rocks, and quartz-epidote rocks. Garnet rich rocks are weakly secondary copper stained. There is relict diopside in the garnet rich rocks, the garnet partly altered to calcite, and is zoned with darker brown euhedral boundaries, where it is in contact with quartz in veins and vughs.

Petrocarb Exploration in the early 1970's, states it is a vesuvianite skarn, an un-determined distance north-east of the plant, they costeaned, sank drill holes, and dug 63 (!) shallow pits to a maximum depth of 5 feet searching for scheelite.
