Name(s) in local language(s):Monte submarino Pantelleria Sud-Est, Canale di Sicilia (Stretto di Sicilia), Italia

This volcanic seamount, located to the southeast of Pantelleria, rises to 210-200 m below sea level and its base is at a depth of 570-560 m b.s.l.

Whole-rock analyses of volcanics, dredged by the research vessel Urania in 2000 between 216 and 467 m, exhibit two distinct compositions: a subalkaline (tholeiitic) basalt and a tephrite. The studied samples are variably porphyritic, with phenocrysts of clinopyroxene, plagioclase (An51–70), and opaques, set in a glassy to microcrystalline groundmass. One sample is plagioclase-rich and subophitic in texture, with a crystalline groundmass. It is characterised by a low-Ti clinopyroxene; mafic minerals are variably altered, and some secondary calcite is also present.
