Costello is a small abandoned open pit about 500 metres south of the Lorna Doone open pit, and 500 metres north of the Mirror open pit. It is 2 kilometres south-east of the Daisy-Milano mine. Silver Lake Resources commenced developing the pit in 2010. Before mining the deposit had a resource of 243 200 tonnes of ore at 3.2 g/t yielding 25 000 ounces of gold. Mineralisation is within 7 metres of the surface. Gold is hosted within the Mirror Shear Zone. Spinifex, Lorna Doone and Mirror mines are also located along the shear zone.
