Originally pegged by Miller and Gibson (surnames). They extracted a fair amount of gold before selling the Brilliant lease to Gordon and party. They worked it profitably for some time before offering the Brilliant and adjoining Brilliant North leases to the Atlas Company, which controlled the Camellia and Camellia Extended leases.
On the Brilliant were two inclined shafts to 170 and 140 feet. The two shafts were connected by a drive 93 feet long. Drives were also in the upper levels. While the company controlled the lease, it extracted 200 tonnes of ore. The quartz in this lease is said to contain coarser gold than the other leases on the Kalpini field, but the ore veins are shorter.
Crushings are noted in 1907 under the name Williams and party.
