The lease in the late 1890's was south of the Royal Standard mine, and on a cross-reef south of the Valkyrie mine. The mine is said to have yielded good gold values.
There were three shafts, 78 feet deep, 70 feet deep, and a third on the northern boundary at 20 feet deep, the last shaft on another reef. The lease was forfeited in March 1898. It then became the New Ophir GML 707, abandoned April 1899. It was then taken up as GML 847 and held from October 1901 to July 1902.
