552,063E and 7,000,100N UTM50 AGD84. Anywhere from 5 to 6.5 kilometres north-east of the Aga Khan mine. Discovered by Patrick Ryan and his three sons in 1929. Mined by Ralph Bellairs, who was the brother of Bob Bellairs in 1978. Bob was heavily involved with mining for emeralds at the nearby Poona field in the 1970's. Said to be named after the pool within the mining pit. Another source (Ralph himself) states was named after a nearby pool, where children washed broken rock containing emerald (where these children came from in the middle of the desert is unknown). In 1988, a company contracted Ralph to supply stock as seed crystals to grow synthetic emeralds. However, their marketing led some to believe the emeralds were natural, and in response the company cancelled the contract. Quartz, beryl and emerald are only mentioned by the reference for the location. Over recent times (2013), the lease has been controlled by Fred Rose, who recovers emerald specimens from the location and sells to collectors.
