A granite pegmatite dike quarried for feldspar around the 1880s to 1931. Located N of Igletjødn pond, about 1 km NØ of the Hæstad Farm. This was the largest feldspar quarry of all on Hidra. The pegmatite was an irregular shaped dike with its greatest dimensions about 100 m. The quarry is now filled with water. The dumps are overgrown and the grass was in 2021 a habitat of a large number of small bloodsucking ticks.
Ulland (1994) writes that large quantities of both feldspar and quartz were taken out here.
Peter Waage (who became professor in chemistry) discovered here kainosite-(Y) in 1886.
There is a conflict between Andersen (1931) and Ulland (1994) regarding the location of this quarry. Andersen places the quarry S of Igletjødn, while Ullard places it north of the small pond which is correct. (However the coordinates which places it north of Igletjødn are confirmed).
Andersen (1931) also places the quarry 1 km NE of the farm. This is wrong, since the distance from the farm to Ullands location is only about 500 m. Andersens description of the quarry seems to correspond with what Ulland writes.
