The chimney stands on the south side of the Kit Hill and can be seen from miles around. An information board gives some detail of the layout. To the north of the chimney is a large fenced area around engine shaft and some open works. Between that and the chimney are the foundations of a building of unspecified use and the smithy, which is piled with large blocks of stone.
The remains of the dressing floors are south of the chimney separated from a large heap of slimes by a level platform with the remains of 4 (possibly 5) buddles. The information board shows there was a calciner at the eastern end of the buddle platform, though the apparent lack off a flue or chimney (the extant chimney is too close by and is presumed to be for the engine).
The engine house foundations are at the western end of the buddle platform.
Other than the small amount of loose stuff around the collar of Engine Shaft there is no apparent heap of rock debris, which, given the size of the slimes heap, would presumably have been considerable, unless ore was collected here from the considerable number of shallow workings which dot the hillside as well as the larger works at the crest of the hill.
