A dimension stone quarry working the Ordovician Harrison Gneiss (a meta-diorite). All minerals are rock forming and fine-grained. It appears in an 1868 map of Greenwich as one of 5 quarries situated along the west side of Byram Cove, probably one of the ones along what is now Ritch Avenue.
