Geology: Grant and Higgins (1909) examined hand samples from a massive sulfide vein, as much as 9 feet wide at this site. The vein contains malachite, azurite, and chalcopyrite in a heavily iron-stained gossan. Bedrock in this area is undivided sedimentary rock of the Valdez Group of Late Cretaceous age (Nelson and others, 1985).
Workings: No workings, improvements, or assay results are reported in the literature.
Age: Cretaceous or younger; the vein cuts rocks of the Valdez Group of Late Cretaceous age.
