This quartz deposit, sometimes also indicated as Aktas II, is located to the west of Aktas village. About 100 quartz veins of various size and shape are known in the area of the Aktas deposit; however, the main volume (99%) of the quartz mineralisation is concentrated in 5 bodies (veins no. 3, 3-а, 36, 29, and 55-57), which form a single vein zone measuring 1.5x0.8 km in size. Vein no. 55-57 (see coordinates) is the main of these bodies, reaching 600 m in linear length and 25 m or more in thickness. Sectors containing dynamometamorphised chalcedony are observed at the contact of the quartz veins. Quartz contamination by carbonates (dolomite, ankerite) and fine-grained epidote occurs in some non-crystal-bearing bodies (e.g., vein no. 36). Typical associated minerals in the quartz veins of the Aktas deposit include hematite, chlorite, chalcedony, and rarely epidote (as radiating crystal aggregates).
Aktas quartz can be classified as pure quartz due to its high silica content (99.21-99.29%); it is also characterised by low contents of Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO, MgO, Na2O, K2O, and P2O5.
