Little information could be found about this historic gold/copper mine which is approximately 5 kilometres north or north-east of Ravensthorpe, in the same general area as Maori Queen and Mount Benson Mines.
It was discovered on leases owned by the Plantegenet Syndicate, June 1901. The Mines Inspector notes the syndicate had not found much on the leases up to that point. August 1902 60 tonnes of ore was processed from the mine for 1oz gold 4 dwt per tonne. In 1903 a 5 head battery was constructed at the mine. In 1904 the battery and mine are reported to be idle due to litigation against the company, but what the dispute regarded is not mentioned. Many of the mines were abandoned in the latter half of this decade on the field due to low copper prices. It is reported in 1910, the Bulldog Mine could be re-opened, and describes the reef as 0.61 metres thick averaging 1 oz per tonne.
Nothing more is heard until 1938, when the mine was operated by S Hunt, possibly as an one-man operation. It is called the Hunt's Gold Mine at this time. The Senior Mines Inspector in May 1938 reports the mine sent three small parcels at 47 tonnes to be crushed for 25.7 oz. This material it states was obtained from small blocks near the surface. No other information could be found beyond this date.
