Located 10 kilometres south-east of Dargaville, as a small disused quarry.
The site contains a small volcanic plug in augite angesite with minerals found at the contact between the Manukau Breccia Formation and limestone.
Analcime as extremely clear, uncommon dodedahedrons. Acicular apatite associated with herschelite and chlorite, often hidden under a coating of the latter, and less commonly supporting herschelite crystals. Barite associated with chlorite in weathered zones as tabular whitish crystals and sometimes rosettes. Chlorite found by itself, as minute rosettes, or scales covering apatite needles. Gypsum sprays in weathered yellowish basalt. Herschelite skewered by apatite needles as whitish hexagonal prisms. Natrolite found only at the contact zone, often associated with analcime as well terminated acicular crystals. Pyrite, often semi hidden and inamongst other species, as rounded indistinct iridescent forms. Siderite botroyoidal and sometimes bow-ties. Tremolite as a background mineral to others as extremely fine hair like threads.
