The complex consists of 3 overlapping monogenetic volcanic centres of SE Lammersdorf, Simmerath, Aachen, Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, Mäuseberg quarry, Rockeskyll volcanic complex, Rockeskyll, Gerolstein, Vulkaneifel, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany and Rockeskyller Kopf summit, Rockeskyll volcanic complex, Rockeskyll, Gerolstein, Vulkaneifel, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, which produced strombolian scoria, lava flows and phreatomagmatic eruptives from maars.
