Bedrock outcrops, primarily of metamorphic rock including gneiss, calc-silicate rock and marble, were exposed during building/office park construction near Rt. 85 in the Marlboro Junction area in the south part of Marlborough near the Southboro town line in 2006.
(This is not the same locality as the better known I-290/I-495 interchange road cuts in the northwest part of Marlborough.)
