The Dorothy Mine was an open cut and underground copper mine (now abandoned), a couple of kms South of Mungana.
Note: Mungana was previously shown under Tablelands Region when Mareeba Shire was amalgamated with three other shires (Atherton, Eacham and Herberton) to form the Tablelands Region in 2008.
Mareeba Shire de-amalgamated from the Tablelands Region with effect from 1 January 2014. Accordingly Mungana and mines located nearby should now be shown as being in Mareeba Shire.
