Welcome to my page. I am a Licensed Geologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I practice hydrogeology and am employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

I collect minerals as a hobby and I am especially interested in ore minerals. When asked by a friend if I ever bring home any gems, my wife remarked, "No, just lots of black, heavy, ugly rocks." I can't help it, I just thrill at finding metal ores. Especially if I stumble upon them in the course of my day. Often, I find that I have happened upon an old mine from the 17 and 1800's. I enjoy identifying the mine, and reading any history about the location. Favorite mines are the Cornwall Mine of Lebanon County Pennsylvania, the Grace Mine of Berks County Pennsylvania, and the zinc mines at Sterling Hill and Franklin in New Jersey. I am also facinated by the mineral assemblage of the serpentine minerals of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Photographing my finds are a real challenge as I do not currently possess the camera equipment necessary to detail the rock's and mineral's crystaline structure. I hope to be upgrading to better equipment soon.

I also play guitar and have played in bands for over 40 years. I play many styles of music, but mainly I like the forms where I get to improvise.
