Y4X-H9GFluorite CaF2 , Hematite Fe2O3 , Quartz SiO2

03957550017056551516872.jpg
Rajasthan, India

Dimensions: 2 cm x 2.5 cm

A new find from India was showcased at Denver 2023. I purchased this specimen from Schwartz Fine Mineral at the Western Complex. It was explained to me that most of these specimens were some epimorph that grew on either prehnite or baryte, which dissolved away. I was told Rajasthan, India, was the origin of this specimen, but there is some uncertainty around this as it is believed that it is a false locale given to hide the true location of the find. The locale information will be updated as more information comes out. This specimen is rather well-balanced.
