Reported natural occurrence of the alloy in oxidised tin ores. Compare with Stanniferous Copper.

Originally reported from Panasqueira Mines, Panasqueira, Covilhã, Castelo Branco District, Portugal.

Synonymous with 'UM1965-06-E:CuSn'. Compare 'bronze', sorosite, 'UM1978-02-E:CuPbSn', and 'UM1965-07-E:CuSn'.

A phase corresponding to Cu6Sn5 is also reported from a Russian kimberlite, where it is associated with 'UM1985-05-E:CuSn' (another Cu-Sn intermetallide) and 'UM1985-04-E:CuNiSn'.
