Named after Aleksandr Nikolaevich Zavaritskii (Александра Николаевича Заварицкого) (2(14) March 1884, Ufa, Russian Empire — 23 July 1952, Moscow, USSR), academician, Academy of Sciences (Russia), a specialist in the petrology of ore deposits. He founded the field of petrochemistry.
