About FluorstrophiteHide

Formula:
SrCaSr3(PO4)3F
Colour:
Green to yellow-green, colourless
Lustre:
Vitreous, Greasy
Hardness:
5
Crystal System:
Hexagonal
Name:
First named strontium-apatite by Efimov et al. in 1962. It was later changed to apatite-(SrOH) (Burke 2008) despite fluorine being dominant over hydroxyl. It was renamed to fluorstrophite by Pasero et al. (2010). The current name reflects the composition, including dominant fluorine, strontium, and phosphate.
This page provides mineralogical data about Fluorstrophite.
