| Abstract/Notes | Systematic cataloguing of rocks is essential for both teaching and research. A simple cataloguing system is proposed using hand-sorted punch cards that should be satisfactory for collections containing items up to a few tens of thousands. In addition to punching, the cards as well as the specimens are filed according to a certain system in order to facilitate the quick finding and refiling of any number of specimens. |
