Name:
Named after Sidney Pieters (1920-2003), of Windhoek, Namibia for his outstanding contributions to Namibian mineralogy.
A compound with a thiosulphate anion (a sulphate anion with one oxygen atom replaced by a sulphur atom), which only occurs very rarely in natural minerals. Other Pb-bearing thiosulphate minerals are fassinaite, steverustite and Unnamed (Pb Thiosulphate). You can also compare 'UM1995-35-SO:FePb'.
