Name:
Named in 1972 by Ermanno Galli and Anna G. Loschi Ghittoni for the Ca-dominance of the exchangeable cations in phillipsites, originally named by "Armand" Serve-Dieu Abailard Lévy in 1825 in honor of William Phillips [9 May 1775 London, England, United Kingdom - 2 April 1828 London, England, United Kingdom], English mineralogist and founder of the Geological Society of London. The Ca-dominant member of the phillipsite series.
