Formula:
(Cr,V,Fe)2(Ti,V4+,Nb)O5
Smith & Nickel (2007) formula: (V,Cr,Ti)2(Ti,V4+,Nb)O5
Likely related (or identical?) to berdesinskiite. May stand for the Cr analogue of the latter. Chemically related to olkhonskite.
As "widely disseminated" grains, usually below 50 microns in diameter.
Associates: crichtonite group, phenakite, rutile, thorite, uraninite, zircon.
Environment: diatreme complex probably related to a carbonatite.
Electron microprobe data (wt.%, 100%-normalized):
TiO2 26.29-33.88
Nb2O5 3.67-10.21
Cr2O3 19.88-25.43
V2O3 23.17-29.80
Sc2O3 0.64-1.02
Al2O3 0.21-0.59
FeO 10.96-12.30
SrO 0.33-1.04
PbO 0.29-1.01
