Named in honor of Dr. Ricardo Héctor Omarini (17 March 1946, Córdoba, Argentina - 28 June 2015), Professor at the University of Salta, for his numerous contributions to the geology of Argentina.
The Ge analogue of stannoidite. Chemically somewhat similar to zincobriartite, renierite, and briartite. X-ray single-crystal studies (R1 = 0.023) revealed the structure to be a sphalerite derivative identical to that of stannoidite (Bindi et al. 2017).
