Formula:
(Fe2+1-x,Th1-x,REE,Fe3+)2x(PO4)2 · 1-3H2O
Originally reported as Fe+21-xTh1-x(RE,Fe+3)2x(PO4)2.1-3H2O
Colour:
Reddish-brown
Crystal System:
Orthorhombic
One of four potentially new species from Markocice, Bogatynia area (Łużyce granitoids), Poland, reported as "Mineral U-3". Composition of all 4 phases (analyzed by EPMA, DTA, TGA, XRD and IR) is variable and it is unsure how it was deduced from the analyses. Associates with thorite, so-called thorogummite, 'UM1979-07-PO:CaFeHREESiTh', 'UM1979-08-PO:CCaFeHREESiTh', 'UM1979-09-PO:FeH', and 'UM1980-04-PO:CaHREETh'.
Relation to ningyoite suggested, with Fe-for-Ca and Th-for-U replacements. Thus, possibly the Fe-Th-REE analogue of ningyoite? Also possibly related to another ningyoite-like phase from Markocice - 'UM1980-04-PO:CaHREETh'.
