Named after Sergio Lucchesi (1958-2010), professor of mineralogy at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy), to honour his contribution to the study of tourmaline and spinel crystal chemistry.
Ca-O-analogue of schorl. The Fe analogue of magnesio-lucchesiite.
