About Laueite Supergroup
Formula:
M12+M23+M33+(XO4)2(OH)2 · 8H2O
where
M1 = Fe2+, Mg2+, Mn2+;
M3+ = Al3+ or Fe3+;
and XO4 = PO4 or AsO4.

Name:
Named after the first mineral in the supergroup that had its structure determined, laueite (Moore 1965).
The supergroup is divided into the Laueite Group (phosphates) and the Maghrebite Group (arsenates). All members are triclinic.
Structural elements include [M2O4(OH)2]7- and [M3O2(OH)2(H2O)2]3-.
