A variety of Famatinite

A selenium-bearing variety of famatinite with up to 23.89% (w/w) of selenium.

Liu et al. (2000) discern seleniferous famatinite (in Chinese: 含硒诀硫锑铜矿, translating as selenium-bearing famatinite) with selenium substituting for less than 20 mol-% of sulphur, and selenium-rich famatinite (in Chinese: 硒诀硫锑铜矿, translating as seleno-famatinite) with selenium substituting for 20 or more mol-% of sulphur. Electron microprobe analyses of samples from the Qiongmo gold deposit show 6.11-9.57% (w/w) of selenium for "selenium-bearing famatinite" and 15.31-23.89% (w/w) of selenium for "seleno-famatinite".
