Named in honour of Alexandr Efimovich Zadov (1958-2012) - Russian mineralogist and mineral collector, specialist in mineralogy of calcian silicates.
A mineral of a novel modular structure type related closely to the structure of nabimusaite. The P analogue of aradite. Differs from gazeevite in substitution of one of the phosphate groups by orthosilicate, the latter two by sulfate, and fluoride by oxide.

Structure related especially to that of gazeevite, being of gazeevite-zadovite type. The structure is of modular-layered type, derived from that of hatrurite. More specifically, it has single (broken) antiperovskite [WB6](TO4)2 layers.
