Name:
Named in 2014 by C. Biagioni, C. Capalbo, M. Lezzerini, M. Pasero for being the ferric iron analogue of hollandite.
The Ba-Fe3+ end-member in the Coronadite Group was redefined as ferrihollandite (IMA 11-F; Biagioni et al., 2013).
The original type locality for hollandite is now that of ferrihollandite.
