Named for the type locality. Originally named stetindite, but renamed stetindite-(Ce) in 2016, according to the Levinson rule.
Ce4+ analog of zircon. Third mineral with tetravalent cerium after cerianite-(Ce) and dyrnaesite-(La). One of the most simple Ce-dominant silicates (compare percleveite-(Ce) and 'UM1979-22-SiO:CeLaNd').

Type Occurrence of Stetindite-(Ce)Hide

General Appearance of Type Material:
Diverging aggregates of acicular crystals up to 1.5 mm in length and 0.05 mm in thickness.
Geological Setting of Type Material:
In cavities in elongated to sheet formed masses of yttrian fluorite wich occurs along a narrow zone in a granite pegmatite.
