The name reflects its sulfur content and similarity to tsumoite.
Similar composition, PXRD data, and microhardness quite similar to "Mineral E" reported by Gamyanin et al. (1978) from eastern Yakutia, Russia; they give the following empirical formula: (Bi2.97Sb0.02Pb0.01)(Te2.0S0.96Se0.04).
