About Chathamite
Formula:
(Fe,Ni)As2
A variety of Löllingite
Shepard (1844) gave the name to an orthorhombic nickel-iron diarsenide which Holmes (1947) showed to be a Ni-bearing löllingite. Chathamite was later thought to be the iron member of an isometric diarsenide series that included chloanthite = nickelskutterudite (nickel member), and smaltite = skutterudite (cobalt member), however this proved to be wrong (this isometric Fe-dominant member is now called ferroskutterudite.
