About Unnamed (Gordaite-related Ca-Zn Sulphate Chloride Hydrate)
Formula:
Ca[Zn8(SO4)2(OH)12Cl2](H2O)9
Crystal System:
Trigonal
Synthetic (anthropogenic) analogue of tzeferisite.
Structurally related to gordaite. Forms colourless hexagonal plates arranged in rosette-like aggregates.
Cu-bearing pale bluish green varieties are known from a slag locality (Herzog Julius smelter, http://www.mindat.org/loc-6026.html) in the Harz Mts, Germany (U. Kolitsch, unpublished data). They are usually erroneously labeled "namuwite".
Compare 'Unnamed (Zn Sulphate-Hydroxide-Chloride-Hydrate)' and 'UM1987-14-SO:ClHZn'.
