Named in honour of Leonid A. Pautov (b. 1958), in recognition of his studies of minerals by physical methods.
Isostructural with:
An unusual caesium sulphide mineral that occurs as small elongated black aggregates. The only currently known mineral combining Cs and S. The second Cs-Fe mineral after caesiumpharmacosiderite.
