About Hydroxylbastnäsite-(La)Hide

Formula:
(La,Nd,Ce)(CO3)(OH,F)
Colour:
Yellow
Lustre:
Vitreous, Greasy
Hardness:
4
Crystal System:
Hexagonal
Name:
For the locality at the Bastnäs mines, Riddarhyttan, Skinnskatteberg, Västmanland, Sweden, plus the "Hydroxyl" prefix due to the dominance of the hydroxyl radical over fluorine and the "-(La)" suffix due to the dominance of lanthanum in the composition.
The hydroxyl analogue of Bastnäsite-(La); the lanthanum analogue of Hydroxylbastnäsite-(Ce) and Hydroxylbastnäsite-(Nd).

Originally reported from Nissi bauxite deposit, Lokris, Fthiótis Prefecture, Sterea Hellas Department, Greece.
